Jane Ryan Elementary fourth and fifth graders, with assistance from teacher Sandra Matthew and aide Sue Salerno, began their knitting project to help patients at St. Vincent Family Health Center. These energetic boys and girls arrived 45 minutes early to school three times a week for several months to knit squares. Squares were connected to make shawls and lap blankets. Thanks go to teachers Darlene Ference, Jenell Cunningham, and Joyce Michaels. Additional helpers included Jane Ryan parents Jennifer McGrath and Kori Hammel and grandmothers Szabo and Cannatta.
