High school student places third

Trumbull High School student Natalie Intemann has been awarded third prize in the art category in the Institute of Living’s (IOL’s) BrainDance awards competition, which encourages high school students to gain knowledge about psychiatric diseases and develop a more tolerant and realistic perspective toward people with severe psychiatric problems. The competition also aims to promote students’ interest in careers in mental health care.

Her art project “The Tree of Life,” garnered third place among those entered in the art category. Overall, 175 students and teachers submitted academic, art and mixed media projects in the 11th annual competition.
