Downloading e-Books with Free Overdrive software — Lecture/demonstration. Friday, Sept. 12, 10-11:30 a.m. See how the library’s Overdrive system for getting e-Books, audiobooks and live streaming of video works. Mary Rogers, library staff member will demonstrate searching on the Overdrive system and show how easy it is to download to your device. Trumbull residents. Register.

SAT practice test — Saturday, Sept. 13, noon-4 p.m. Why take a practice SAT test? It’s one of the best ways to prepare for the real deal. Know what to expect and feel more comfortable and confident when test day comes. This is a real SAT exam, proctored and timed by a Kaplan representative. All test-takers will receive a phone call and feedback from a Kaplan tutor shortly after the exam. Bring calculator and two no. 2 pencils. Register.

SCORE’s Five-session series on simple steps for starting your own business — #1. What does it take to be an entrepreneur? Thursday, Sept. 18, 7-8:30 p.m. See what’s required of the entrepreneur, including the good and not so good aspects about running your own business. Some may not wish to face the risks; it’s better to find out before committing time and resources. Others may be convinced that becoming an entrepreneur is best. Free. Register. DO try this at home — Ages 8-12 years old. Monday, Sept. 15, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Taste an apple ... or is it a potato? Make a soda volcano. Create some of the bouncy, gooey awesomeness that is flubber. Join Emily, Julie, and Kassie of Girl Scout Senior Troop 35246 as we explore the science behind these 100% hands-on experiments, using ingredients found in most kitchens. You may get messy, so dress accordingly. Max. 18. Register.

Drop in playgroup — Wednesday, Sept. 17, 10:30-11:15 a.m. Special playgroup for September. Families with children ages 1-3 are invited to read, sing and play with us. No registration needed.
