Children’s Events 

Family Chess Club — Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m.-noon. Selva Selvarajan’s Family Chess Club will assemble on the first and third Saturdays (except for long weekends). Chess learners and experts from 4 to 94 are welcome. Meet in the Children’s Section with your own board, or come to watch.

TLS Fall Storytime registration has begun — Monday, Sept. 16. Sessions begin Tuesday, Oct. 1 and run through Dec. 15. Children or caregivers Trumbull residents. Details online and at the library.

Fairchild Nichols Branch 

Branch adult programs — History of Nichols. Saturday, Sept. 21, 12:30-2 p.m. The Nichols area of Trumbull is full of interesting historical events, landmarks, industries and culture. Join us for an oral presentation about this area, given by Tom Pieragostini, a lifelong resident of Nichols. Personal stories included about famous residents, including Igor Sikorsky and actor Will Geer. Registration required.
