Engraved brick campaign honors veterans

In conjunction with an Eagle Scout Project, the Nichols Improvement Association (NIA) is running an engraved brick campaign in order to raise money to fund a project with the goal of improving the local veteran’s memorial, located on the NIA's green at the intersection of Shelton Road and the Huntington Turnpike.

In donating a brick, you may choose to honor a loved one who served or simply to note your family’s involvement in this project. These bricks will be included in the new pathway which will be installed leading up to the memorial in the coming weeks.

Proceeds from the fund-raiser will go to putting in the pathway and replacing the existing landscaping. Any extra funds will be dedicated to other NIA projects or events.

In celebration of Veteran’s Day 2014, consider making a donation in order to honor those who have sacrificed for our country. The final deadline for donations is Friday, Nov. 14.

To contribute, either visit niatrumbull.org/ways2help.php or send a check made payable to the NIA to Dylan Hawkes, 122 Fern Circle, Trumbull, CT 06611, along with your name, number, and desired message. The donation for a standard 4”x 8” brick with three lines of text is $100, while an 8”x 8” brick with an armed forces emblem is $125.
