Children's Services Benefit — ‘The Speakeasy’ on Saturday, Feb. 7

Guys, grab your pinstripes and gals don your flapper dresses for a new event on Saturday, Feb. 7, benefiting The Kennedy Center Children’s Services.

Forget the dreary winter and be transformed to the gaiety of the Great Gatsby era. Come be a part of a 1920s jazz evening at the Trumbull Marriott, 180 Hawley Lane. ‘The Speakeasy’ starts at 7 p.m., with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by live music, food and dancing at 8 p.m.

Get in the mood for fun with the Dan Martin Sextet and a private tasting room hosted by Onyx Moonshine with featured cocktails. Dance performances and instruction by Marko Urosevic from the Trumbull Fred Astaire Dance Studio also will be featured. Added attractions include dancing, libations, auction, food stations and a photo booth.

The event will help fund the following Kennedy Center Children’s Services: After school and summer supports for at-risk students with behavioral challenges, scholarships for families not eligible for state or insurance funding, behavioral supports, parent and family supports, and specialty arts and science programs.
