The goats at the Beardsley Zoo will be snacking plenty this summer thanks to a generous donation from employees of Coordinated Transportation Solutions, Inc. (CTS).
CTS, a transportation brokerage firm based of out Trumbull, specializes in providing non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) to a wide variety of individuals in need of quality health care, as well as special education students and worker’s compensation recipients.
CTS conducts business throughout the northeast and has built a strong reputation for its expert-level customer service delivery in the transportation industry.
Last year, CTS moved its headquarters from Ansonia to Trumbull and continues its mission to give back to its new community.
Twice a year, CTS calls on its employees to contribute to the “CTS Snack Basket,” where employees purchase snacks with all proceeds going to a community organization selected by the employees.
“CTS owes a tremendous part of its success to the communities that we have been a part of and so we are always looking for new opportunities to give back,” said Dave White, CTS founder and President. "Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo has done amazing work for its animals over the years and we wanted to be a part of their efforts.”
This year, CTS employees voted to support Beardsley’s goat program, contributing over $1,000 to help fund their food, medical care, and maintenance of the pens.
Organizations that CTS has supported in the past include the Ansonia Animal Shelter, Griffin Hospital, BHCare, Derby Library, and Ansonia Master’s Table Community Meals program with gifts totaling over $5,000.
Jessica Summers, director of development and marketing for Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, said the donation “shows the commitment CTS has for the communities they serve.
“As important, the generosity and enthusiasm shown by CTS employees, who chose this exhibit to sponsor, is especially gratifying,” she said. “Their gift provides important funding for one of our most popular animal exhibits.”
