Binky Patrol holding a blanket-making marathon

Binky Patrol of Southern Connecticut announces its first business sponsorship.

Allen Nathan, owner of A&S Nathan Heating & Cooling of Ansonia, has made a donation to help underwrite expenses to be incurred at the Monroe/Trumbull chapters’ “Bink-A-Thon” at Christ the King Church in Trumbull on Saturday, Oct. 25, from noon to 4 p.m.

The “Bink-A-Thon” is an event planned to accommodate large groups of people, who for one day, make as many blankets as possible. Binkies, or comfort blankets, are hand-made and distributed to children born with HIV, drug addictions, infected with AIDS or any other chronic or terminal illness.  Binkie are also given to abused children, children struggling in foster care — any child from birth to 18 years old experiencing a trauma.

The Monroe/Trumbull chapter welcomes other area businesses to become a sponsor. Sponsorships help defray the costs of materials so that Girl and Boy scouts may participate. Donations of JoAnn or Michael’s gift cards are also appreciated.
