Local historian and author, Sue A. DelBianco, will host a historical slide presentation called Rails To Back Trails, at The Stratford Library on Main Street in Stratford on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 pm. in The Lovell Room.
DelBianco will take the audience back in time between 1840-1942, showing, through captivating images, the then-and-now of railroad history, and how it evolved in Bridgeport in 1836, and continued its journey through towns such as Trumbull, Monroe, Newtown and stopping in Pittsfield MA. Today, the abandoned railway corridor has become one of Connecticut’s best recreational trails in Bridgeport, the Trumbull Valley, Monroe, and Newtown.
Admission is free.
If you have any questions about the event, you can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, she will have copies of her historical video Rails To Trails: A Journey Back in Time, which is the story of how the railroad evolved in Trumbull and why it vanished.
