Letter — Thankful to have the town’s trust

Three times in the last 13 months, I’ve been appointed by our Town Council to positions of responsibility as a community volunteer. Twice I’ve been appointed as an alternate on the Board of Finance — most recently this week — and once as a member of the Community Facilities Building Committee. Before that, I served on the Planning & Zoning Commission for 10 years, five as an alternate and five as a full commissioner.

It’s been an honor to serve our town, and I look forward to continuing for at least the next 12 months on the Board of Finance.

In each of my three recent appointments, the Town Council committee forwarded my nomination to the full council unanimously, and the full council voted in an overwhelmingly bipartisan manner to confirm my appointment.

I want to take an opportunity to sincerely thank First Selectman Vicki Tesoro for her trust in me, and all of the Town Council members — from both sides of the aisle — for their faith in me. I appreciate the support from those on the other side of the aisle, and I pledge to serve our town in that same spirit of non-partisan comity.

Tony Silber (D)
