Breaking: Masked men steal ATM from mall

Westfield-Trumbull-MallPolice are asking the public for help locating two men in connection with the theft of an ATM from Westfield Trumbull mall this morning.

According to Lt. Keith Golding at about 9 a.m. two men wearing dark clothing and ski masks drove up to the north sidewalk entrance to the mall (adjacent to Macy’s and J.C. Penney). The two exited a maroon mini van, possibly with New York plates, and proceeded into the mall with a hand cart.

The men went to the ATM located about 80 feet inside the entrance, and broke it free from its position. They then loaded the machine onto the cart and wheeled it back to the van.

The suspects then fled south on Madison Avenue at a high rate of speed, Golding said.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to call Trumbull police at 203-261-3665 or use the department’s anonymous and confidential tip line at trumbull-ct.gov/police.
