Women arrested with drugs at Trumbull mall

Police say they seized nearly 500 oxycodone pills

Trumbull Police said Saturday they seized a large quantity of oxycodone pills from two women Thursday at the Westfield Shopping Mall.

Officers Greg Lee and R.J. Carlson of the Trumbull Police K9 unit were acting on a tip from the Drug Enforcement Administration when they stopped Chontee Eaton and Amina Young, both from New York, around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23. Police said they seized 478 Oxycodone pills.

Further details on the women’s addresses or ages were not provided by police Saturday.

Trumbull Police said the women were charged with “numerous” drug violations and both held in lieu of $250,000 bonds.

According to the state Judicial Department Website Eaton was charged with sale of illegal drugs, a felony, and possession a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. She was released on a $100,000 and has entered a not guilty plea, according to the Judicial Department and is next due in court July 15.

Young, according to the Judicial Department website, was also charged with sale of illegal drugs,possession a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance. She was released on a promise to appear in court July 15.
