The Trumbull Nature and Arts Center might need to find a new home if the building committee selects the 7115 Main Street location as the site for the town’s new community center.

The Trumbull Nature and Arts Center (TNAC), located at 7115 Main St., Rt. 25, is offering the following programs. Space is limited. Visit trumbullnatureandartscenter.org for more information and to register.

 

Adventures in Edible Plant Foraging — Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m.-noon; Ages 7 and up with adult, $3/person. As the wet days of spring start to lengthen and become the warm days of summer, the world around you explodes with a bounty of green plants, new shoots, colorful flowers, and sweet berries; many of which can be safely collected and eaten. Join The 3 Foragers as they walk and identify, discuss, and taste the landscape, with an emphasis on sustainable harvests and wonderful tasting wild foods.

 

The Great Firefly Round-up and Smore’s — Friday, July 1, 8:30-10:30 p.m. All ages (parental supervision required), $3/person, Gather at sunset and learn a bit about fireflies as we celebrate this curious insect. Hear a story about a love struck bug, learn why fireflies glow and grab a net and jar before venturing into the summer night to participate in a friendly competition. Then gather round the campfire to make s’mores! Bring a flashlight. Great for families.
