Beginning on June 5, Long Hill Baptist Church, 100 Middlebrook Ave., Trumbull, will be offering a series of free Sunday morning classes that will help strengthen marriages and families. All classes will meet at the church at 10 a.m.
“We recognize that most families aren’t as strong as they like to be,” says Pastor Robert Hammond. “In fact, some families are typically operating in a near-crisis mode.”
Pastor Hammond explains that these classes are intended to assist families that are dealing with relatively common challenges as well as those who are facing more complex struggles.
“Many families have worked hard to find answers to very real difficulties,” explains Pastor Hammond. “But they’re discovering that many of the answers that are being offered simply don’t meet the need.”
Pastor Hammond desires to help couples understand and apply Biblical principles for solving problems in marriages and families.
“Many couples have grown-up without any grounding in what God has to say about family relationships,” explains Pastor Hammond. “Often, we get into trouble at home because we simply don’t know what the Bible teaches.”
The Sunday series will begin with a very practical overview of God’s Biblical plan for marriage and the home, explains Pastor Hammond. Other classes will address disciplining children and teens, developing Godly children and building character in teens.
“And we will address the difficult issue of substance abuse in the home,” explains Pastor Hammond.
Pastor Hammond also offers free Bible-based counseling to help couples and families overcome anger and hurt. All classes and counseling are provided at no cost, says Pastor Hammond.
