The Warde Mustangs and Wilton Warriors became the fourth and fifth teams to clinch FCIAC boys basketball playoff berths, and three more spots are up for grabs with one game remaining.
Warde topped Norwalk, 70-66, in its regular-season finale on Monday, as the Mustangs earned their 10th win of the season and moved into fourth place.
Wilton, which beat Westhill 63-54, moved into fifth place at 9-6 in the league and has clinched a berth based on the many tiebreakers which work in its favor. The Warriors have beaten Westhill and Ridgefield (both 9-6), as well as Brien McMahon and Greenwich (both 8-7).
Ridgefield can clinch tournament berths with wins on Wednesday. Westhill plays at Bridgeport Central (0-19), while Ridgefield plays at Stamford (14-5).
Ludlowe knocked off Stamford, 45-27, to remain alive in the playoff race. The Falcons are tied for eighth place with the Brien McMahon Senators — both teams are 8-7 in the FCIAC — and they’ll battle for a possible playoff spot at McMahon on Wednesday. Greenwich, at 8-7, is also still alive.
Danbury and Trumbull will be the top two seeds in the conference tournament, with Stamford locked into the No. 3 spot.
The rest of the seedings will be determined on Wednesday.
