Police investigate burglary at Mobil Service Center

Cigarettes, cash were stolen as two suspects entered business through a broken window

A car vandalized on Winding Way was the highlight of police activity this week.

Trumbull police are investigating a burglary that took place after midnight at the Mobil Service Center on White Plains Road. 

The Trumbull Police Department is currently investigating a burglary that took place at the Mobil Service Center located on 950 White Plains Road shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12.

According to Lieutenant Leonard Scinto, officers arrived at the scene and discovered a smashed window on the front door and a several packs of cigarettes scattered on the floor.

A large rock believed taken from a nearby wall was used to smash the window, Lt. Scinto said, and was found in the store.

A Bridgeport K9 officer responded to the scene and a track was conducted but was terminated a short distance away.

“Video surveillance shows two suspects enter the store and remove two racks of cigarettes, the cash drawer and then exit through the broken window,” Lt. Scinto said in a release.

The value of the merchandise and cash was not immediately available.

The incident remains under investigation.
