Defending league champion Darien will head into the postseason with an undefeated record and the No. 1 seed in the FCIAC tournament, which will hit the courts with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The Blue Wave, which defeated Trumbull in the regular season finale on Friday, is 16-0 in the FCIAC this season. They have won 12 of the last 13 and 21 of the last 24 conference championships.
Seven of the eight tournament teams had been decided coming into Friday’s final day, as Ludlowe, Ridgefield, Brien McMahon, Greenwich, Trumbull and Warde had all punched their tickets to the dance.
The Staples Wreckers wrapped up the eighth and final spot with their 3-2 victory over Danbury. Staples and Warde finished tied with 10-6 records, with Warde earning the No. 7 seed based on its 3-2 win over Staples on Monday.
