The Nichols Garden Club’s first meeting of the season was held on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Members came together over a light meal to catch up after the summer break, each contributing appetizers and desserts. Members also brought perennials, dug from their gardens, to exchange during their Member Divide and Share.
On the agenda, was a recap of this year’s Midsummer’s Eve Garden Tour, during which visitors toured five interesting and diverse Trumbull gardens. Included in the discussions were the plans for next year’s Garden tour, for which they are already in search of gardens to include. If you have an interesting garden that you would like to show off, contact Mary Beth Thornton at 203-375-4364.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m., at the Nichols Improvement Association (NIA) House, 1773 Huntington Tpke., in Trumbull.
During this meeting, members will enjoy a holiday themed workshop focused on bow making, pine cone wiring, and sharing ideas to create beautiful wreaths and arrangements, which can be used throughout fall and winter.
New members are welcome. If you are interested in membership, or attending the workshop, please contact membership chairperson, Joan Zbell 203-377-8951.
