Members of the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association (GBRTA) will meet at Testo’s Restaurant in Bridgeport on Thursday, Oct. 8. The program features guest speaker Jeanne Osborn DiMuzio, announcer for Fairfield University’s NCAA Women’s Division I basketball and a mentor to sophomore students.
DiMuzio presents “The Happy Side of Teaching … There Was One?” Her talk for the retired teachers is a humorous look back on her professional career as an educator, first in the areas of art, physical education, theater and music, and later in administration, counseling, coaching and grant writing. Currently DiMuzio serves adult learners as Engage Life Director at Atria Senior Living in Stratford.
Following the GBRTA business meeting at 10:30 a.m., a lunch of honey baked ham, chicken piccata or baked sole oreganata will be served.
Originally established in 1951, GBRTA welcomes all retired teachers who reside or have taught in the greater Bridgeport area and who receive pensions from the State of Connecticut. This includes Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull.
For further information or to make luncheon reservations, check the GBRTA web site at www.gbrta.org.
