On Thursday, Sept. 10, the mascot from the Sound Tigers visited classrooms. This was because many Frenchtown students participated in the Sound Tigers Summer Reading Program.
Back to School Night for parents of grade 3 and 4 students will be Thursday, Sept. 10, 7-9 p.m. Students do not attend. Information about the evening’s presentations were sent home.
No school on Monday, Sept, 14 for Rosh Hashanah and Wednesday, Sept. 23 for Yom Kippur.
Every Tuesday will be Spirit Day. Students and staff will wear blue and white, Frenchtown spiritwear or a shirt with a Wolf on it. The last Tuesday of every month is Citizenship Day when students and staff wear red, white and blue.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, first and second grade boys will meet with Pack 64 Cubmaster, Jen Kane, and second grade scout leader, Jason Chiodo, to learn about scouting activities. They will meet in the cafeteria at 2 p.m. All boys will take home a flier with information on upcoming scout meetings and activities. The Pack 64 Leadership Committee will also have a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 8 in the library at 7 p.m.
The Jane Ryan Back to School Night will be on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. There will be staggered times for grades K-2 and grades 3-5 with everyone meeting in the gym between sessions to meet Principal Mary Ellen Bolton and other key staff members.
The fall fundraising drive kicked off on Sept. 4. Students will have until Sept. 25 to conduct sales with friends, family and neighbors. The “Puppy Incentive” turn-in dates are Sept. 11, 18 and 25. Detailed instructions for parents are included in the packets.
Cub Scout Pack 64 will have its first pack meeting on Monday, Sep.21 in the JR cafeteria/gym at 7 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to sign up their son for scouting, as well as the pack’s overnight at Lime Rock race track on Oct. 2-3, and the overnight at the CT Science Center in Hartford, CT on Saturday, Nov. 7. The first school store of the season will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Koalas, Beanie Ballz backpack clips, and a slew of new products, including Apple Watch and Gameboy erasers, birthstone bear keychains and heart sticky notes are in stock and ready to fly off the shelves.
