Trumbull Community Women’s 50th anniversary celebration held on May 30 in the Community Room of the library on Quality Street. First Selectman Tim Herbst read a proclamation declaring June 22, 2015 to be Trumbull Community Women Day.

Herbst cited the many contributions the woman’s club has made to the town over the years, including the annual Tidy Up Trumbull campaign, the Children’s Tent at the Trumbull Arts Festival, food drives for the Trumbull Food Pantry, the Health Walk at the annual Pumpkin Run, support of the home for female veterans in Bridgeport and the awarding of an annual $2,500 scholarship to a graduating Trumbull senior.

On hand for the celebration was this year’s scholarship winner, Megan Folchick, a graduate of Trumbull High School, who will be attending Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., in the fall.
