Team Abby, formed in memory of 15 year-old Trumbull High student, Abigail Anderson, was nearly 300 members strong Saturday at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of Darkness Community Walk.

The walk was held at Sherwood Island in Westport, and Team Abby raised more than $36,500 for the foundation, which supports suicide research, education and advocacy. Abby, who struggled with clinical depression, took her life last June.

T-shirts made for the event that include Abby’s bucket list goal to “help others in a big way” were sold to support a cheerleading scholarship at Trumbull High.

You can still support Team Abby by searching the Out of Darkness Community Walk page at afsp.org for the Westport Walk’s Team Abby.
