A Trumbull man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly drove drunk from the scene of a domestic incident May 30.
According to police, a woman called 911 shortly after 5 p.m. and reported that a family member had been drinking and had shoved her. She later told police that he had pulled the phone cord from the wall when she had tried to call for help before fleeing from the house.
Police spotted the suspect, Stephen Moran, 52, nearby. Officers said he tried to hide by driving down a side street before police apprehended him. Moran allegedly failed a field sobriety test, and later refused to take a breath test. Refusing a breath test carries an automatic license suspension.
Moran was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, interfering with police, disorderly conduct, and interfering with an emergency call. Bond was $10,000 for court May 31.
