In anticipation of a snowstorm expected to begin Tuesday morning and last throughout the day, Supt. Gary Cialfi was closed the Trumbull public and private schools for the day.
The National Weather Service is forecasting snow beginning in the morning until about 2 p.m., with a gradual changeover to sleet and freezing rain by 3 p.m. Total accumulations are projected to be 3-5 inches of snow and sleet, plus a layer of ice. The sleet and freezing rain is expected to change to rain by 11 p.m. with temperatures rising into the mid-30s overnight.
Wednesday’s high temperature is expected to be in the low 40s.
