Green Thumb Ambassadors – ages 7 and up
The Trumbull Nature and Arts Center (TNAC), located at 7115 Main St., Rt. 25, is offering the following program. Space is limited. Register online at patronsoftnac.com.
Green Thumb Ambassadors — Children ages 7 and up will learn the joy of “Growing your own food,” with Richard Moore of Moorefield Herb Farm. At the Trumbull Community Gardens, participants will plant a garden, care for it, watch it grow, and consume the fruits of their labor. Includes a visit to the farm one week.
Tuesdays, May 21-June 25, 4-5 p.m.
Cost: $40/family (15 children max.) 7+ with caregiver.

League of Women Voters annual dinner meeting
League of Women Voters of the Bridgeport Area announce their annual dinner meeting will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m., at Unity Hill United Church of Christ, 364 White Plains Road.
Following dinner and the business meeting, the speaker will be Carole Young-Kleinfeld, a Registrar of Voters from Wilton, speaking on changes in Connecticut’s election laws.
Reservations may be made with Diane Fried of Stratford. Cost is $15 per person.

Voice Studio Recital
A Voice Studio Recital, with students of Trumbull resident Cristina DiMuro, will be held on Saturday, May 25, from 2-4 p.m., in the Trumbull Library Community Room. Child through adult students will be singing Broadway favorites and more. A light reception to follow.

‘Shred It’ day set for June 1
St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 200 Shelton Road, Trumbull, is sponsoring a ‘Shred It’ day on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m.-noon.
All are welcome and you can either box it or bag it.
Shred 30 pounds of paper for $10. Drop it off or stay and watch it being shredded. No need to worry about staples, paperclips, or rubber bands.
Household hazardous waste collection June 1
There will be a household hazardous waste collection for residents of Trumbull, Easton and Monroe on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at Indian Ledge Park, 307 Indian Ledge Park Dr., in Trumbull. A Connecticut driver’s license is required.
Items to bring include oil-based paints, varnishes, pesticides, insecticides and pool chemicals. Do not bring latex paint (can be dried with kitty litter and thrown in the garbage), alkaline batteries, motor oil, antifreeze and asbestos products.

Rabies clinic, dog licenses available
There will be a rabies clinic for dogs and cats on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m.-noon at the Trumbull Highway Department, 366 Church Hill Road. The fee is $20, cash only, for the rabies vaccination. Must bring a rabies certificate of prior vaccination to receive a three year vaccination. Dogs must be on leashes; cats in carriers.
The Town Clerk will be available selling dog licenses; $8 for altered dogs/$19 for unaltered dogs.

Indoor mini golf to benefit IMPACT
Come play an 18-hole miniature golf course located inside the Trumbull Public Library on Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The first annual Invitational, presented by Jeffrey Wright’s Painting & Restoration. Holes are sponsored by Stop and Shop and other local businesses.
Food available for purchase by Vazzy’s Cantene Truck. Silent auction and raffle items, donated by local businesses
Cost is $5/person, with all children ages 5 and under free. Bring the whole family for only $20.

Vaughn Dentistry offers Free Dental Day
Vaughn Family Dentistry will have their annual Free Dental Day on Friday, June 7, at their office, located at 2 Corporate Drive. The event is to support those in the community without dental insurance who are in need of dental services.
Treatment is limited to the most needed services that can be completed in one visit, such as x-rays, exams, fillings or extractions, by Dr. Brian Vaughn, D.M.D., Dr. Salvatore Florio, D.D.S., M.D., and Dr. Jigar Gandhi, D.D.S.
Children and adults ages 7 and up are eligible. No advance appointments will be made; hours are 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Arrive as early as possible as these services are limited to the first 150 patients.

Library holds Book Nook Sale
The Trumbull Library, 33 Quality St., will hold their Book Nook Sale on Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be a selection of fiction, children’s books and media. A select group of non-fiction will be offered at half price. Donations welcome.
Fire company’s Ladies Auxiliary to hold tag sale
The Trumbull Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary will hold their second annual tag sale on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Station 2 on Daniels Farm Road.
There will be various tag-sale vendors. Shoppers should park on Firehouse Road. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, June 9.

Dan Mills and The Fairweather Band
On Saturday June 15, at 7:30 p.m., the Trumbull Congregational Church (TCC) will host a concert in the sanctuary, featuring the music of NYC-based singer/songwriter Dan Mills. He will be fronting a five-piece band, including pianist Adam Podd, who serves as TCC’s Music Director. In addition to Mills’s original material, the band will play a set of gospel and bluegrass favorites.
Mills was recently featured on Broadway in “Million Dollar Quartet” in the role of Carl Perkins. Now, he and the band play shows in cities around the Northeast, and collaborate on a number of other musical projects. Find Dan Mills on iTunes or his website www.danmills.net.

St. Theresa Church Vacation Bible Camp
St. Theresa Church Vacation Bible Camp, “Jesus, Doctor of the Soul,” will take place Tuesday, June 25-Saturday, June 29, from 8:45 a.m.-noon at St. Theresa School. This Catholic Bible Camp is for children entering kindergarten through grade 5. The cost is $35 for the first child and $25 for additional siblings.
Registration deadline is May 24. Sign up early since we have had an overwhelming response in recent years.
Volunteers are also needed for various areas such as music, crafts, activities, group leaders, and set-up/clean-up.
