St. Joseph extends season with win over McMahon

Jenn Vasquez didn’t want Friday night’s girls basketball game with Brien McMahon of Norwalk to be her last for St. Joseph, so the senior forward scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead coach Chris Lindwall’s club to a 64-51 home victory.
The win improved St. Joseph to 8-12 overall and 11-11 in the FCIAC and clinched a berth in the state tournament.
Chloe Dudzinski scored 10 points, and the Cadets took a 13-7 lead into the second quarter and were in front 32-16 at the half.
Caitlin Sharnick scored 10 points and Lauren Della Vecchia made a pair of 3-pointers and finished with eight points.
Mairead Donahue scored six points, Lauren Pitney scored five and Erin Johnson four.
