Cadets need win on Friday

The St. Joseph High girls basketball team will play host to Brien McMahon of Norwalk at 7 p.m. on Friday with a chance to extend its season.
Coach Chris Lindwall’s Cadets are 7-12 and need to win their finale to qualify for the state tournament.
St. Joseph lost to a 16-3 Stamford High team by a 58-30 margin at home on Tuesday night.
The Knights blew the game open with a 22-9 third quarter.
The Cadets overcame a 13-6 deficit in the first quarter and never gave up the momentum, with a 51-39 road win over Bridgeport Central on Thursday.
Ana DoCarmo, Jenn Vasquez and Lauren Della Vecchia scored nine points each.
Mairead Donahue had eight points and 10 rebounds.
Chloe Dudzinski scored six points and Caitlin Sharnick grabbed nine boards to go with four points.
Bridgette Sharnick scored four points.
St. Joseph defeated Norwalk High, 50-33, on Wednesday.
Della Vecchia buried a trio of 3-pointers and finished with 13 points and five steals.
Donahue had eight points and eight rebounds.
Vasquez scored eight points and DoCarmo had seven.
