Trumbull remains in a State of Emergency and the parking ban remains in effect, according to an emergency alert message from First Selectman Timothy Herbst.
Herbst said snow-removal was proceeding slowly due to the volume of snow that fell (an estimated 34 inches in some places) and that plowing was being complicated by cars parked on the roads.
“ We are asking everyone to stay home, stay safe, and please be patient,” he said.
As of 6 p.m. about 40% of town roads are open. Plow crews will work through the night with the goal of completing one pass on all town roads by tomorrow night.
“We expect that roads will not be completely cleared until sometime on Monday,” Herbst said.
School Supt. Ralph Iassogna will decide sometime tomorrow whether to open schools on Monday.
