Cadets tie Wave in FCIAC showdown

The St. Joseph High boys hockey team played Darien High to a 4-4 overtime tie in a meeting of top-flight FCIAC teams at the Darien Ice Rink on Wednesday.
The Cadets are 11-4-1, while the Blue Wave stands at 12-1-2.
Darien took a 3-0 lead with two goals in the first period and another midway through the second before St. Joseph rallied.
Matt Greenhut scored at 10:22, Dominic DeRosa at 11:30, and Christian Keator tallied at 12:09 and 12:48 to put the Cadets ahead 4-3.
Darien’s Trent Bergin scored at 2:13 of the third to complete the scoring.
Marc Van Etten had 23 saves and St. Joseph had 34 shots on goal to 27 for Darien.
Keator had two assists, and Colin Powell and Ryan Corcoran one each.
